The UK's largest and most prestigous televised cycle race series for men and women returns to Guisborough!

Guisborough will host the opening round of the Tour Series for the second year running when it welcomes the UK’s leading televised cycle race series on Bank Holiday Monday (2nd May).

Guisborough hosted the first-ever Yorkshire round of the team-based series in August 2021, which saw dramatic victories for eventual men’s champions Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling and the talented Great Britain Under-23 women’s team.

This event is being delivered by Sweetspot Event Group Ltd. in partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.


Britains top professional cycling teams battle it out on the streets of Guisborough!

The free-to -watch series returns to Guisborough and exciting racing is guaranteed in the elite men's and women's events!

Don't miss out on a thrilling afternoon of fast, fun and free sporting action as riders tussle it out for victory at speeds of up to 40mph around the Guisborough circuit.

Following a day of community-focused events, the professionals will battle it out for glory on the same 1.3-kilometre (0.8-mile) circuit centred around the historic Westgate, Gisborough Priory and St Nicholas Church.

Between 1pm and 6pm on race day, Sunnyfield House will host the North Yorkshire Moors Birds of Prey, a great opportunity to get up close and personal with some fantasic wildlife. 

The team at North Yorkshire Moors Birds of Prey provide a safe, exciting and memorable live wildlife learning experience. Showcasing a diverse range of owls, eagles, hawks and falcons from across the globe.

Sunnyfield House will also host a special Tombola stall with a variety of fantastic prizes.

All proceeds from the stall will go towards the Mayor's chosen charities of Guisborough Museum and Guisborough Town Pride.

Important Information

To attract such an elite cycle race is a major success for the area and we hope it is enjoyed by as many people as possible.

However, for your safety and to assist your enjoyment of the event, please consider the following information supplied by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

To ensure the complete safety of participants, there will be a temporary road closure in operation on the day delivered by Community Traffic Management.

As a result of the closure, a number of bus services will also be re-directed or suspended so we advise you check with your local travel operator prior to making any journey.

Roads affected by the closure include Westgate, Church Street , Walkers Row, Northgate, Bolckow Street, Church Lane, Priory Close, Reid Terrace and Westgate Road. Please note a full clearway will be in operation on these roads from 10am on the morning of the race, please can you ensure you find alternative parking as nay vehicle left on the raceway will be towed away.

To accommodate the start and finish of the race, Westgate will be closed to all traffic from 0600 until approximtately 2300. The rest of the circuit will be closed from 1100 onwards.

Car Parking in Westgate will alos be suspended from 0001 on Monday 2nd May until after the event has finshed. Residents and visitors are kindly asked to use other car parking facilities signed around the town centre, further details are given on the Councils website -

Inevitably this will result in some disruption, although we will attempt to open the roads as soon as possible and when it is safe to do so.

Any vehicles left on Westage will be towed away by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and dropped off at Belmont House Car Park (TS14 7FD)

  • Do plan your journey as some public transport may be delayed or suspended.
  • Do plan your parking.
  • Do support local businesses
  • Do make sure the whole family stays together!

However please:

  • Do not let dogs off leads at any point.
  • Do not park on the roadside on the race course.
  • Do not stand on the road(even to get a photo) Riders can approach at up to 50mph.
  • Do not allow your children to wander off, keep a watchful eye on them so they can see the riders coming with you!
